Metagenomic and Genomic Datasets

The Bioinformatics Lab in Natural Sciences received three connections to the DMZ. The increased bandwith has been an important improvement to our lab as it allows us to download large metagenomic and genomic datasets rapidly, and also to transfer datasets much more efficiently between lab members. This has enhanced our research efficiency significanctly. I also envision that this infrastructural improvement will be important when we wish to implement Big Data analyses in the classroom, as is currently planned.
